Applications are open to apply for the Beijing International Students Scholarship 2027. Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) offers the Beijing International Students Scholarship to international students from all over the world to pursue their Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programmes.
The scholarship covers the first year tuition fee, excluding other fees, that encourage the outstanding students. It is open for the March 2027 intake; applications must be submitted by 12 January 2027.

Eligibility Criteria for Beijing International Students Scholarship 2027
These are the following criteria that you have to meet to be eligible for the scholarship:
- An applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen.
- Applicants from around the world from any specific background can apply.
- You must be friendly to China.
- You haven’t been associated with any criminal record.
- You must comply with the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the host institution.
- You must be in good physical and mental health.
- Must have a good academic and behavioural record.
- You must not exceed 30 years old for the bachelor’s degree, should not exceed 35 years old for the master’s degree and should not exceed 40 years old (as of September 1, 2026) for the PhD degree.

- Passport-size photograph.
- Applicant’s passport information page.
- Guarantor certificate.
- Non-criminal record report.
- Diploma or pre-graduation certificate.
- (1) Master’s Degree Program applicants should provide a Bachelor’s diploma and academic transcript of all semesters.
- (2) Doctoral Degree Program applicants should provide a Master’s diploma and academic transcript of all semesters.
- *Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarised Chinese or English translations.
- HSK Certificate or other required language proficiency certificate.
- Two Letters of Recommendation from experts in the applied field of study (should have a professional rank of at least Associate Professor or equivalent).
- A study plan written in Chinese or English (more than 1,000 characters or words); the proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s Chinese supervisor.
- Doctorate applications require a supervisor’s pre-admission letter.
